2024-2025 Undergraduate Catalogue | | The Department of Creative Writing offers a major leading to the Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, the optional Certificate in Publishing, and a minor in creative writing. The Bachelor of Fine Arts program offers an intensive apprenticeship in writing, informed by the close study of literature, to serious, aspiring writers, among a community of accomplished professional writers. The BFA degree provides training in the art of writing within the context of studies in aesthetics, the literary tradition, the craft and profession of publishing, and broad liberal arts subject matter relevant to the student’s needs and goals. Students take writing workshops in all three of the department’s writing genres: fiction, poetry, and creative nonfiction. A grade of C- or higher is required in each course counted toward the major, and a grade point average of C (2.00) or higher for all courses counted toward the major. |

I've lived in the Wilmington area for a number of years and it has its charms. The campus is nice and walkable, there are many great beaches, Wilmington itself has a nice little riverfront bar/restaurant district, and the cost of living is not burdensome.
