The Case Study of Vanitas: Part II - ReviewsAlt title: vanitas no carte: part ii. Editing to give a canon appropriate unhinged review: Again, this was made for people who didn't read that manga. People got swept under the rug. Where's Antoine? Oh wait. He doesn't exist. Number 70? Never heard of them. These people don't exist anymore. Number 70 may not be important, but Antoine was. Do we need to see Veronica talk about her and Machina? In the words of Domi: "I don't want to hear my sister talk about her weird sex life." So no. But we need that moment for Antoine. It shows Domi's self esteem issues. And speaking of removing characters, what happened to Machina in Chloe's backstory? He was in a giant bear costume. It was a funny element in such a serious backstory. But what does Machina matter when Chloe and JJ have their backstory served to us like three day old leftovers with everything good picked off? Oh but thank goodness Astolfo got a backstory. AND THAT WASN'T EVEN BONES. They called in Jun to do it because they were screwing up her story so much. "Hello, Jun. We screwed up. Fix it for us, please?" Speaking of backstory, Luna . Who cares that they have no gender? Who cares that they only have their name because Vanitas gave it to them? Not Bones. In short: Non Usually I would write a more detailed review, but I'm too lazy and tired at the moment, though I may update this at another time. I just finished Part II and it was pure gold ahhhh. I enjoyed this season immensely (a lot more than the first, and I loved the first, so this says a lot), can't wait for the next part. Great character development, insane backstories, a plot that reels you in to the point that most episodes feel like they are 5 min long instead of 20 something min. I especially like how Case Study of Vanitas combines dark, serious topics and emotional backstories with light-hearted humor, causing you to feel like you're dying inside one moment but then smiling and laughing the next. Few animes could ever do this to me so easily lol. Though the OP and ED songs were not as wonderful as S1's were, they were still great. I really enjoyed listening to them and the rest of the music in the series fit so well. Yuki Kajiura's compositions never cease to amaze. I highly recommend the Case Study of Vanitas, folks, you will not be disappointed. And, no, I don't care whether or not it follows the manga or leaves out characters, I judge animes by their individual content and not by how well it copies the manga's source material. This applies to how I judge book to film/TV adaptations as well. I watched the second part of this series directly after the first, so a lot of the feelings I had initially were carried over. I felt the first half of this one did not fit with the initial plot establised in the first part/season. It was interesting, yes, but felt too long and disconnected, ignoring a lot of what was established in the first season. It was also broken up with many flash back episodes of characters that didn't necesarily add to the plot especially when they are repeated in other episodes. The second half fit much better and was more vital to the character's development and their journey and gave the season/part a bit of tention to build a decent conclusion. It also showed more of the bond that was forming between Vanitas and Noe, which was nice. In all honesty, the first half of season one and the second half of eason two would have made a more enjoyable single season, though it would have deviated quite a bit from the series which I feel would have angered many of the manga's fans but would have also opened the anime to more specials. Anime Review #26 - The Case Study of Vanitas II I guess I liked it more than I was expecting too lol like sure I didn't love everything about it but I did kind of hyperfixate on it for a week. Anyway LOL, here are my rambles from watching this show. Idk if you could even call this a proper review though, it’s kind of just me word vomiting my thoughts while watching<3 ((lots of spoilers warning lol)) I just have to say that I don’t really love the Jeanne x Vanitas pairing lol. Jeanne is cute and all sure, but it kinda makes No é look like a little bitch baby who’s perpetually 3rd wheeling them. I honestly feel like my boy No é gets left out sometimes. To me, it seems like a very one sided relationship between No é and Vanitas. I get it though, Vanitas will never tell him his dark past because he’s not an open person and having friends that you can trust is gay yada yada sure, but it doesn’t have to be the ‘Vanitas Show’ all the time. And I feel like whenever it is No é’s time to shine, it’s always so lame LOL. Like ya he’s a vampire and he’s supposed to be good at fighting, but IS HE?? I feel like he kinda sucks. God I just want to see No é become evil soooo bad. They keep teasing me with Naenia showing up and having some kind of vested personal interest in him, but then we just move on. I don’t want to see Jeanne getting all horny for Vanitas. No é, please accept Naenia into your soul and be evil for the love of God<3 I’ve said it once, I’ll say it again. There’s nothing I love more in a show than when the nice character goes CRAZY or turns EVIL or even better if they pretend to be nice and are secretly evil the whole time. I crave it. (idc if it’s been overdone, I eat it up EVERY TIME lmaooo) Literally Mikhail’s only purpose is to reveal Vanitas’s backstory because, if Vanitas won’t say it, let’s make this random other character from his past forcibly share it! Moving on… the whole Beast of the Gévaudan (I looked it up and apparently it’s a real French fable) /Chloe D’Apchier arc was so boring to me. I feel like they gloss over stuff that happens so quickly. Like No é getting his freaking hand chopped off. I’m definitely on the side of No é supremacy over Vanitas (as if it wasn’t painfully obvious LOL). Vanitas gave me the ick that one time and now he can’t live it down. I usually like the “asshole” type of character (I suppose Vanitas is a bit different from that character type though) but I don’t really like Vanitas lol. I suppose I should say that I usually like the “stoic asshole” character, but in this situation I like the sunshine character more (No é) . We LOVE a sunshine character. The classic determined, self-sacrificing, “I will do whatever it takes to save [insert person i just met here] because I believe in the power of friendship and living in harmony, plus I get excited about things easily!!!” type of attitude lol. It can be annoying, but I think it’s fun. ((I hope No é ’s cat turns into a sexy cat humanoid. What is even the point of the cat?? It’s cute I guess…)) I will say, though I am LIVING for the Chasseur Olivier. He’s hot.<3 Good, stoic, charming, angry guy side character, and the Vampire of the Blue Moon is bad as hell yes queen purr slay. This may be an annoying take, but I kind of feel like this show is trying to be like D.gray-man LOL, at least with the aesthetics, but D.gray-man is soooo much better. I love D.gray-man<3<3<3 Through watching this show though, I noticed both have: A circus motif, Child Experimentation, Dark haired character/White haired character relationship, Vampires vs Humans = Akuma/Noah vs Exorcists, 19th Century European vibes, but I guess when you get down to brass tax, all Shonens are pretty much preaching the same drama but with different monsters. I feel like for the most part I am just nitpicking though. I always find myself wanting certain expectations from a show that I know are unrealistic. When there’s a character that I like in a piece of media, I hyperfixate on them and create all of these headcanons and unhinged brain rots that I want to be real in my mind if I don’t already know what the outcome of the show is. Like I try to imagine how I would write it lol. I always do that, so it annoys me when my expectations aren't met even though I know that they most likely won’t be met lol. I’m just fucking crazy I guess LOL. (does anyone else do that lmao?) Also,,, can we talk about that whole episode where Ruthven bites No é and compels him to do whatever he says whenever he asks or whatever,,,, ummm happened to that lol? When’s that coming back? That part seemed so interesting, but then we never called back to it. I imagine it will be brought back at some point, but damn I’m waiting. Also I’m confused. (I haven't read all of the manga yet) Is No é a curse-bearer now because he wanted to drink Vanitas’s blood super bad after Ruthven compelled him? Like the smell of human blood was so strong at that moment to him, but then never again…. I assumed that’s what happened, but he doesn’t act like a curse-bearer like Jeanne at all so I guess he isn’t? I don’t know. Who cares lol. I also didn’t realize that this show was still airing, so I binge watched it and then I had to wait a week for this last episode to come out and I legit just watched it and am writing this review<3. First world problems. I am going to read more of the manga though, I guess, so we’ll see if it’s better than the show and explains things more :D Also also, (that’s 2 alsos omg) I get it, I chose to watch a show titled ‘The Case Study of VANITAS’ and then I get mad when the show is more about Vanitas than No é even though the show is supposed to have a double protagonist. LMAO. I’m curious about the Shapeless One though he seems fun and ooky spooky :D Sorry for my long dumb review of random thoughts hehehe I'm so bad at rating stuff I feel like I'm always so inconsistent but whatevs. That’s all :))) If you want Both Season Dub and Sub for free (I usually watch on free websites with an AdBlock to be safer) IF you don't feel safe clicking the link type the website name in the search bar Zoro or Zoro.to (the .to Might change if it does I'll update when I find out if I remember) https://zoro.to/the-case-study-of-vanitas-17754?ref=search https://zoro.to/the-case-study-of-vanitas-part-2-17932?ref=search - Latest Chapters

The Case Study of Vanitas (Official)The Case Study of Vanitas Manga OnlineThe case study of vanitas. There once lived a vampire known as Vanitas, hated by his own kind for being born under a full blue moon, as most arise on the night of a crimson one. Afraid and alone, he created the “Book of Vanitas,” a cursed grimoire that would one day take his vengeance on all vampires; this is how the story goes, at least. Vanitas no Karte follows Noé Archiviste, a young man who is traveling aboard an airship in 19th century Paris with one goal in mind: to find the Book of Vanitas. A sudden vampire attack leads him to meet the enigmatic Vanitas, a doctor who specializes in vampires and, much to Noé’s surprise, an entirely ordinary human. The mysterious doctor has inherited both the name and the infamous text from the Vanitas of legend, using the grimoire to heal his patients. But behind his kind demeanor lies something a bit more sinister… All Chapters- The Case Study of Vanitas, Chapter 63

you wake up to the front door opening and closing, then you hear rustling from right beside you. you slowly open your eyes, and you see vanitas' faint outline in the dark. "welcome home," you whisper, looking up at him from the bed. he's taking off his heavy clothing, quietly changing into something way more comfortable.

The Case Study of Vanitas. PG-13. HD
The breeze of the night came through slowly, the wind flowing through his hair lightly. It was funny, how the city of Paris still looked almost alive at night. The soft glow of lights speckled the city. Vanitas wore a dully melancholic expression as he stated at the city. It was eerily quiet as he numbly stared out.
