Karnataka: Through a recent notice, the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) has informed about the submission of the Online Dissertation for the ensuing M.Sc Nursing September/October-2021 Examination.

All the concerned students can take note of the following details as released by the RGUHS on its official website:

• The Principal of all colleges are informed to submit 4 CDs (Soft Copy)
• Submission of Hard Copies of Dissertation books are not accepted in the University

• RGUHS UG Admission 2024:  Admission to MBBS/ BDS/ BAMS/ BHMS/ BUMS/ BNYS at RGUHS is based on NEET UG. Karnataka NEET UG Counselling 2024 has started for admission to State Quota Seats for these UG courses at RGUHS. The Round 1 Seat Allotment Result for Karnataka NEET UG Counselling 2024 will be released on September 1, 2024. MCC NEET UG Counselling 2024 Round 2 Registration is scheduled from September 5 to September 10, 2024 (12:00 PM) for admission to All-India Quota MBBS / BDS Seats at RGUHS. The online choice filling and locking for Round 2 is from September 6 to September 10, 2024. The Round 2 Seat Allotment Result will be released on September 13, 2024.
• RGUHS MD/MS Admission 2024:  NEET PG 2024 Result has been released @ natboard.edu.in for admission to MD/ MS/ PG Diploma at RGUHS.
• RGUHS MDS Admission 2024:  Karnataka NEET MDS Counselling 2024 is ongoing for admission to State Quota MDS Seats at RGUHS. The Mop-up Round Seat Allotment Result for Karnataka NEET MDS Counselling 2024 has been released @ cetonline.karnataka.gov.in. The last date to report to the institute is September 2, 2024 (5:30 PM). MCC NEET MDS Counselling 2024 is ongoing for admission to All-India Quota MDS Seats at RGUHS. The online registration for the Stray Vacancy Round of MCC NEET MDS Counselling 2024 is scheduled from September 2 to September 4, 2024 (3:00 PM). The choice filling and locking is from September 2 to September 5, 2024 (8:00 AM). The Seat Allotment Result for the Stray Vacancy Round will be released on September 7, 2024.

• Good infrastructure , and teaching is also good.

I applied for goverment ayurved colleges and other private colleges also I got bvvs ayurved college Bagalkot I chooses this college because of good facilities.. No rejection from other college I got it based on my neet ranking Eligibility is neet exam Cut off around 450 marks for general category ( based on 2021 neet exam)

Review of SKAMC

• The faculty in my college are very good and are well qualified
• The college has hospital next to it and has a good patient exposure
• The campus of my college is a little small as compared to others

Sri kalabhiraveshwara college is very good. And has very good rating. It is situated in the centre of the city . And the facilities here are very good . Mainly the patient exposure in the hospital is very good

• The college is located at a very beautiful and scenic location.
• The faculty members are well experienced and friendly.
• During monsoon season there will be problem of fungus.
• Washed Clothes will take a lot of time to dry because of the climate.

Kodagu Institute of Medical Sciences was placed number 6th on my preference choice list in KEA. I chose this college over others because of its ambient atmosphere and its beautiful climate. Recommendations from few other trusted people also influenced my decision. To get admission, one gets to get the required cutoff rank in the NEET exam conducted annually for medical courses. The cutoff varies depending on the categories .

The college on the hilltop.

• The topography of the college is on a hill station. So the climate is very cool and soothing
• Boys to girls ratio is 80:70. All faculty members are well qualified and supportive.
• The college campus is far away from madikeri town. Accessibility is a little difficult.
• The climate has high amount of moisture. Hence drying our washed clothes is difficult.

This college was my 7th preference during the college councelling conducted by KEA after NEET exam. According to my marks and rank, i was eligible to join this college. The main key aspect to chose this college is the climate. The college is on a hill station, hence climate is always cold and soothing. The admission process is only via NEET examination. Either you can opt for Karnataka councelling, or all india councelling. Cut off for the college varies from year to year.

Authentic and honest review

• The hostel food. Awesome and satisfying hostel food with provision of evening snacks which included chats and many healthy things
• Infrastructure is well developed which is surrounded by nature and is at outskirts of the city. Attached MBBS college due to which it was beneficial
• Hygiene was an issue with lack of maintenance when needed. It has two varieties that is 6 sharing with no attached bathroom
• Patient flow is very less due to which practical knowledge hampers a lot which is crucial in this course. We have to manage patients for exams

I scored 300 in neet 2016 and i belonged to open category so there was no point i would get bds or mbbs so i went throught management quota through a broker who offered us this seat. I did get rejection due to category rank and more competition. My admission at that time was very easy based NEEt i.e National entrance examination test qualify if u r not qualified then no admission thats it. I gave AIPMT was was equivalent to neet nd got qualified and good an admission.

Medical life in ssims

• My college got very peace and large campus, well maintained with heritage look. Girls ans boys arqr in same campus, even college and hospital are in same campus too. Everything thing is alright qiwth big playing ground and gym in campus
• All our professors are good at their expertise.they actually care about our studies and even sometimes personal life too. All clinical sise professors are very good and talented.
• Hostel food on Sunday evening, it's very disgusting.
• Some friends behaviour which they act all of it.

I actually got admitted to Dayanand sagar engineering college Bengaluru. But later i got seat allotted in medical college so i have to leave previous college and got admitted to ssims and rc. Seat allotment process goes by merit list so whichever college u get allotted to according to your marks in NEET and category ,u have to accept it, if not u should wait for next counseling or take gap to score good for best college.

• And toilet of the clg is always cleaned best
• About attenders annap and fakirap are very dangerous
• Some of the teachers in faculties are not best

The Karnataka Government runs the k counselling through which I have allotted to this college as I got less marks of the cut off marks so I didn't got an other college but I am happy with this college okay

Campus social life review

• It has good infrastructure to facilitate learning
• The cadaver to student ratio is at one per thirty
• It doesn’t provide any extracurriculars so those looking for pg out of country may not do well
• Social life doesn’t flourish as much on campus since it’s more study oriented

I chose this college for the simple reason that I did not want to live in a dorm. I wanted to live at home and commute to and from college. The college is also very close in distance to my home making it favorable.

• The teaching staff is on average very skilled in each department of the 1st year. Concepts can be easily grasped and understood. Emphasis on application skills is present.
• The area is relatively safe even for girls even late at night.

The admission process is via KEA. The reasons for choosing JJM over other colleges is because of its reputation over the years, its very high patient inflow and exposure to various kinds of cases at UG level itself. It is academically well reputed as well. Networking is made a lot easier thanks to the large alumni base.

Passing in the first-year MBBS examination RGUHS requires a bit of tip and tricks. If you are an average student try following these as it could be helpful.

• Buy a companion (Yatiraj Singhi) and mark all RS2 and RS3 questions in the textbooks (focussing more on RS3) and read that much only. 
• To pass it is not necessary to study the complete syllabus.
• Read All 3 markers questions from previous 5-year question papers, you can get it from the library or seniors. 
• Your target should be to score at least 22+ of the given 30. Once you have scored it, you need to score is 28 more to pass the exams.
• For this, you are left with 5 and 10 marker questions, which means that you have to score 28 out of 70.
• Try scoring 3 marks each from the questions you know. You are done with 18 more marks. 
• For the rest of the 4 questions, you should write it in such a way that you manage to score at least 1.5 - 2 marks for each question. 
• For this, you should make diagrams and write a bit about them.
• Your strategy is to not waste much time on 10 markers while studying but to focus more on diagrams and flowcharts. 

MCQs will also be there which come under the same high-scoring category but they could come from any part of the book.

Carry-over subjects are the ones that you failed to clear in that academic year. If you have carry-over subjects from the 2nd year, you will be able to attend 3rd-year MBBS classes but you will have to clear the supplementary examinations for the carry-over subjects. 

Yes, you can write 3rd-year examination in June after clearing 2nd-year supplementary examinations in June. The course work of 3rd year isn’t heavy there is only one major subject, i.e. PSM along with two minor subjects. So, you will be able to manage. 

Can someone give me details regarding the RGUHS migration transfer?

Yes, but first make sure you have received your Provisional Certificate. If you have got a couple of photocopies of the same and get it attested by a gazetted officer. 

Fill the form for the migration certificate, make payment online and then submit it in the 1st hour so that you receive it by evening.

Sending certificates by courier is initiated or not, and can be confirmed while submitting your application.

Also take photocopies of your other certificates like internship completion, Scorecards, etc.

How do I apply for the RGUHS permanent certificate MBBS? I didn't receive it through mail till date.

If you haven’t received your permanent certificate from RGUHS, you should contact your college or university. There can be two likely cases - your college hasn’t forwarded the convocation form to RGUHS, or you forgot to submit the application form. 

If you have the original application form and you haven’t submitted it, you can contact RGUHS. They will verify your MBBS mark sheets, certificates and provide you with the degree certificate. 

If you don’t have the application form then you should have a Xerox copy. Check if the Xerox copy has RUHS seal with date on it. If there’s no seal and date, then RGUHS, hasn't received your application. You should contact your college for further details.

Are repeaters eligible for gold medals in MBBS rguhs?

Only regular students are eligible to receive a gold medal for achieving the highest marks in a particular subject or for the highest score in an academic year. Repeaters, unfortunately, are not eligible for this recognition.

You will get a cash prize of INR 50,000 in RGUHS convocation if you have secured the first rank in MBBS subjects. The criteria followed for an award of gold medal or cash prize is as follows:

• Pass with the highest marks (in each of the examinations of a given course) on the first attempt.
• Secured first division.
• Scoring no less than 65% of marks.

If there are no first-class during any particular year, only a cash prize will be given to the candidate who passed in 2nd class but secured the highest marks. The medal is then not provided.

• Contact your advisor to discuss department considerations and potential dates for your defense.
• Contact the Graduate School to ensure your progression paperwork has been approved.
• View important dates and purchase a graduation application through MyNevada for your graduation semester.
• Doctoral students must submit their dissertation title for the commencement program.
• Schedule defense date with the entire advisory committee in accordance with graduation deadlines.
• Submit all forms and final manuscripts to the Graduate School by established deadlines.

3. Checklist to complete your electronic submission

• Master's  Notice of Completion and Doctoral Notice of Completion Form  - This form includes all committee signatures AND the Graduate Program Director’s signature.
• Master's Final Review Approval and Doctoral Final Review Approval   Form - This form serves as the final approval from your advisor. The Graduate School will accept the dissertation/thesis after the date listed on the form. The approval date on the form indicates the student’s submission can be accepted.
• Committee Approval Page   - Use the online Word document template (NO SIGNATURES and no page number). This page will be merged into your manuscript to acknowledge committee members.
• Filing for Copyright Registration   (optional) - Students have the opportunity to register a copyright of their graduate work with the U.S. Copyright Office. It is strictly optional, and there is a $75.00 fee associated with the service, which is paid online with student submission.
• Processing fee  - $85 thesis / $95 dissertation.  Log into your Student Center in MyNEVADA . Under the Finances section, click on the link “Purchase Miscellaneous Items.” Select the applicable processing fee to pay (Dissertation or Thesis) and complete the transaction. 4. Instructions for completing thesis/dissertation committee approval page

• The Committee Approval Page (see forms links at bottom of page ): This interactive template has established borders.
• Use the accompanying template on page two of this handout to complete the Committee Approval form. Check spelling carefully and make sure that case (upper-case/capital and lower-case letters) and font style (regular or bold) follow the template. Spacing between lines will depend on how long your thesis/dissertation title is and how many committee members you have.
• Type the words as they appear on the template, i.e., on the first line “We recommend that the thesis/dissertation”, followed by the second line “prepared under our supervision by.”
• At brackets [1] enter your full name in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS and BOLD-FACED.
• Type the word “entitled” all in lowercase letters.
• At brackets [2] enter the complete title of your thesis/dissertation. The title should be in both CAPITAL and lower-case letters and must be Bold-Faced. If the title is long, use two or more lines, breaking the lines at appropriate words in the title. Do not hyphenate between lines.
• Type the words “be accepted in partial fulfillment of the,” and then, on the next line, “requirements for the degree of.”
• At brackets [3] enter the name of the degree being awarded, e.g., for Ph.D. enter “Doctor of Philosophy,” for Ed.D. enter “Doctor of Education”. The degree should be in all CAPITAL LETTERS and Bold-Faced. DO NOT enter the name of the graduate program, such as anthropology or economics.
• At brackets [4] type the full name of your thesis/dissertation advisor followed by his/her degree, followed by the word “Advisor”. For example, “Sonia A. Skakich, Ph.D., Advisor”. Use both capital and lowercase letters.
• Enter the subsequent committee members and type the full names of the rest of your committee members followed by their degrees and their roles in the committee (Committee Member or Graduate School Rep.) under each one. Use one line for each member. The Graduate School Representative should be the last committee member listed. Use both capital and lowercase letters.
• The last entry is reserved for the Dean of the Graduate School (which is already entered on the form).
• At brackets [5] enter the month and year of official graduation. The month must be May, August, or December. Enter the appropriate four-digit designation of the year (e.g., 2018).

5. Formatting your dissertation or thesis

The Graduate School requires standardized formatting for the dissertation and thesis documents. Students will follow a style guide (APA, MLA, etc.) to prepare their document; however, the document must comply with University formatting requirements listed below.

Margins and spacing

• Left margin: 1.5” from the left edge of the page.
• Right margin: 1.0” from the right edge of the page.
• Top margin: 1.0” from the top edge of the page.
• Bottom margin: 1.25” from the bottom edge of the page.
• All text should be double-spaced with the exception of captions, footnotes, long quotations, bibliographic entries of more than one line, and materials in tables and appendices.

Recommended fonts

Fonts should be easy to read. Times New Roman, Arial, or a similarly clear font is preferred; type size must be 10, 11, or 12 points. Script and italic typefaces are not acceptable except where absolutely necessary i.e. in Latin designations of species, etc.

In preparing your dissertation or thesis for electronic submission, you must embed all fonts. In Microsoft Word 2013, this is done by accessing the FILE menu; selecting OPTIONS, select SAVE. From the SAVE menu check the box labeled, ”Embed fonts in the file.” If the file size is a concern, check the box next to “Do NOT embed common system fonts."

Large tables, charts, etc., may be reduced to conform to page size, but the print must remain clear enough to be readable. You can also attach a PDF for electronic submissions.

Page numbering

Every page, with the exception of the title page, the copyright page, and the committee approval page is numbered in the upper right-hand corner, one-half inch from the top of the page and one inch from the right edge of the page. Do not underline or place a period after the number. Do not use a running header.

• The prefatory materials (abstract, acknowledgments, table of contents, etc.) are numbered in lower case Roman numerals (i, ii, iii, iv…). Insert a section break after the Roman numerals to create different page numbering styles.
• The first page of the main text and all subsequent pages are continuously numbered in Arabic numerals beginning with one until the final page number (1, 2, 3, 4…)
• Do NOT number appendices or pages of additional material with numbers such as 4a or A-1.

Tables and appendices

Tables and appendices are part of the document and must conform to the same margin and page numbering requirements.

Abstracts are required for all theses and dissertations. ProQuest no longer has a word limit on the abstract, “as this constrains your ability to describe your research in a section that is accessible to search engines, and therefore would constrain potential exposure of your work.” ProQuest does publish print indices that include citations and abstracts of all dissertations and theses published by ProQuest/UMI. These print indices require word limits of 350 words for doctoral dissertations and 150 words for master’s theses (only text will be included in the abstract). You may wish to limit the length of your abstract if this concerns you. The abstracts as you submit them will NOT be altered in your published manuscript.

Processing note

Each copy of your thesis or dissertation will be checked for margins, clarity of copy, and pagination. The Graduate School will run the manuscript through the Turn It In plagiarism tool.

Electronically submitted theses/dissertations are available in electronic format only; no hard copies will be produced. Students are responsible for binding any copies for personal use or for distribution to their advisor, department, or committee members.

Students have the opportunity to register a copyright on their graduate work with the U.S. Copyright Office. It is strictly optional, and there is a $75.00 fee associated with the service. Students submitting electronically pay online. Paying for the claim to copyright is a voluntary action, which allows a court of law to award monetary damages if the copyright is infringed. Various statistics are collected with the built-in statistics module and Google Analytics modules. Information on monthly/yearly views, number of downloads, demographic information, etc. is available for each deposited item upon request.

All the ETDs uploaded into ProQuest are automatically deposited into the University's ScholarWorks repository. The embargo period set in ProQuest during deposit is carried over to the ScholarWorks repository. Any changes to the embargo period after deposit can be made by contacting ProQuest at 1-800-521-0600 as well as the ScholarWorks administrator at [email protected] .

Do I need to upload my ETD into the ScholarWorks repository?

• No, ProQuest will automatically upload the ETD into ScholarWorks on approval from the Graduate School.

Can I extend the embargo period on my Thesis/Dissertation after uploading it to ProQuest?

• Yes, to change or extend the embargo period of your ETD you need to contact ProQuest at 1-800-521-0600 and the ScholarWorks administrator at [email protected] .

Can I make my ETD open access in the ScholarWorks repository?

• Yes, ScholarWorks supports open access with creative commons licensing. It is available as a free service to all the faculty/staff/students.

Alternative formatting for thesis or dissertation

These guidelines apply to those theses or dissertations which consist of a number of papers either previously published or being published concurrently with the submission of the thesis or dissertation. Acceptance and publication of the articles are not criteria for this alternative. Each of the papers should constitute a separate chapter of the overall work. Preceding the papers should be an introductory section. This section may be one or more chapters but should include:

• an overall introduction to the thesis/dissertation,
• a review of the appropriate literature, and
• a description of the methodology used in the study.

The student’s advisory committee should determine the format and specific content of this introductory section.

The number of individual papers constituting chapters of the thesis/dissertation is determined by the student’s advisory committee. These chapters may be formatted in the same style required by the journals to which they are to be submitted. However, the margins must conform to those of the overall thesis, i.e. left margin = 1.5"; right margin = 1"; top margin = 1"; bottom margin = 1.25". In addition, each page must be numbered consistent with the rest of the thesis/dissertation, that is, the first page of text is numbered 1 with each subsequent page numbered consecutively until the end, to include all appendices, indexes, etc.

Following the chapters consisting of individual papers, there must follow a summary, conclusions and recommendations section. This section may be formatted as one or more chapters.

Work reported in the articles should represent a major contribution by the student that is the review of the literature, the conceptual framework and/or research design for the reported work. The statistical analyses, summaries, conclusions, and recommendations should represent the student’s own work.

For publication purposes, other researchers may be named as additional authors. This would be especially appropriate when publication is dependent upon extensive revision of the initial manuscript submitted and the faculty involved assumes responsibility for the revisions, or when the student is using an existing database.

When a student chooses this option, the articles will be submitted to the journals agreed upon by the concerned academic unit. Responsibility for follow-up, revisions, etc., should be identified in a written document and agreed upon by the student and faculty member(s) involved.

Survey of Earned Doctorates

• Survey of Earned Doctorates  - The Survey of Earned Doctorates (SED) is an annual census conducted since 1957 of all individuals receiving a research doctorate from an accredited U.S. institution in a given academic year. The SED is sponsored by the National Center for Science and Engineering Statistics (NCSES) within the National Science Foundation (NSF) and by three other federal agencies: the National Institutes of Health, Department of Education, and National Endowment for the Humanities. The SED collects information on the doctoral recipient's educational history, demographic characteristics, and postgraduation plans.
