These are devices that provide the processed data/information into human-readable form. Example- monitor, printer, speaker, projector etc.

Control Unit: 

The control unit handles the various components of the computer; it reads and interprets (decodes) the instructions for the program, transforming them into control signals that activate other computer parts.

Arithmetic Logic Unit: 

It is capable of performing arithmetical and logical functions. The set of arithmetic operations supported by a specific ALU may be restricted to addition and subtraction or may include functions of multiplication, division, trigonometries such as sine, cosine, etc., and square roots.

Central Processing Unit: 

The ALU, control unit and registers and together called the CPU. It is sometimes called the computer's brain, and its job is to perform commands. We send instructions to the CPU whenever we press a key, click the mouse, or start an application.

Software refers to computer parts, such as programs, data, protocols, etc., that do not have a material form. In contrast to the physical hardware from which the system is built, the software is that portion of a computer system consisting of encoded information or computer instructions.

It is sometimes called "firmware" when the software is stored in hardware that can not be easily modified, such as with a BIOS ROM on an IBM PC compatible computer.

The computer was first invented by Charles Babbage in 1822. It’s a type of digital electronic machine in which data can be stored as well as retrieved very easily. It’s used for several purposes like sending emails, playing games, browsing, listening to music, preparing sheets, typing, etc.

There are many varieties of computers like personal computers, laptops, mini laptops, etc. The work of all the types of computers is the same, they differ only in size, specification, and price.

They are such devices that are used everywhere whether it’s an office, school, bank, hospital, hotel, or any other place. They have brought such a revolution that we couldn’t have imagined it.

Actually, they have not only changed the way and speed of our work but have also increased our productivity. Today no field is untouched by them.

2. How did computers bring revolution? –

As time passed, the popularity of computers increased. Gradually, they started being used in many fields like defense, agriculture, education, medical, business, etc. They helped us to store data easily and retrieve it in just one click when needed. They really made our job a lot easier.

With the help of computers, we can easily make online payments, book tickets, study online, access social media, watch live shows & movies and also collect information about anything.

The only difference between a desktop and a laptop is that the laptop can be easily carried anywhere while there’s a little inconvenience for the desktops, but both have their own values. It designs buildings of all kinds, gives information about the best material to be used, suggests ideal measures for its safety and gives accurate expenditures of its construction. In medicine, it assists to perform tests, diagnoses diseases and prescribes medicine. In space, sea and earth explorations, it has performed wonders. It collects information of various heavenly bodies, their properties, and atmospheric conditions. It tells us about the treasures hidden under the earth and in-depth of the sea. We control satellite, rockets, missiles, and spaces ships by computer. It is the best typewriter, with wondrous fonts and beautiful results. It also provides the recreation of all sorts. It plays with us, amuses us with different activities, and fun. In the field of education, it has performed wonders. It can collect information for us from the most remote parts of the world. It is through the computer that this world has become a global village. Through the internet, people can take orders for their products from all over the world. They can talk to their relatives and friends who are in other cities or other countries.

Disadvantages of Computer

Though the disadvantages of computers are equal to nought as compared with its uses, nevertheless, there are few physical and social problems associated with it. As far as physical harms of the computer are concerned, it causes stress and tension to the person who has to sit before it hours and hours together. Sometimes it weakens eyesight. It may cause a few social evils. On the internet, our youth can watch obscene movies and immoral pictures.

After analyzing computer from both the angles, it is easy to conclude that its uses are greater than its abuses. However, the evils of computers can be reduced to some extent by devising a code of ethics and awakening the sense of duty in our youth. Its physical evils can be controlled by certain exercises. To conclude, it may be said that the present age is the age of the computer. If we want to keep pace with the rest of the world, we will have to take adequate measures for the uplift of computer technology.

Some people watch the Olympics for the events. Others watch for the hot athletes.

This is nothing new. Going all the way back to the first century, the orator Dio Chrysostom praised the “beauty” of the boxer Melankomas, who competed in the ancient Greek athletic games .

That same feeling resonates in 2024. A number of participants in the Paris Summer Olympics have distinguished themselves for things beyond their athletic talent. In an extreme case, a pole-vaulter gained a great deal of attention — some might say notoriety — for failing in a unique way. Others caught the public’s attention through moments of love or kindness — a different but equally palpable form of beauty.

There are numerous options to choose from, but here are 10 moments of beauty at the games.

Swimmers and Their Abs

After Italy won bronze in the 4 × 100-meter freestyle relay on July 27, the Italian swimmer Thomas Ceccon, 23, raised his arms in celebration. In doing so, he unintentionally bared his well-cut abs , which had many thirsting on the internet .

(Ceccon, who won gold in the 100-meter backstroke, was later found sleeping on the ground next to a bench in Olympic Village after he had complained about the conditions at the village.)
